Fast food franchise McDonald's has supplied video footage of a robbery incident at its Meadowdale branch in Edenvale where a six-year-old boy was shot and killed.

JOHANNESBURG - Fast food franchise McDonald's has supplied video footage of a robbery incident at its Meadowdale branch in Edenvale where a six-year-old boy was shot and killed.

The outlet spoke to EWN, claiming that their staff were held up at the drive-thru and other patrons also robbed of their valuables.

The victim was in a vehicle with his parents behind the suspect's vehicle at the time of the incident.

Evidence which will play a crucial part in the hunt for three suspects responsible for the murder of a six-year-old boy during a robbery at McDonald's in Meadowdale in Edenvale has been supplied to police.

McDonald's chief marketing officer, Daniel Padayachee: "We have complied with the law 100%. We are cooperating with the South African Police Service in terms of video footage and any other information we can gather in terms of witnesses in the resturaunt and so forth."

Police spokesperson, Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, said that a manhunt had been launched for the suspects.

"A case of murder and business robbery has been opened for further investigations and no one has been arrested as yet."

The identity of the child or the family have not yet been revealed.
