Foundation celebrates Uyinene Mrwetyana's life by stepping up its advocacy against GBV

CAPE TOWN - The Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation says it's celebrating the life of the slain student by stepping up its advocacy against gender-based violence (GBV) and femicide.
To honour five years since the death of UCT student, Uyinene Mrwetyana, the foundation will be hosting an event in her hometown of East London.

The showcase titled “Five years of resilience, honouring Uyinene, a lifetime of change,” will be held this Saturday.
Uyinene Mrwetyana's mother and the CEO of the foundation, Nomangwane Mrwetyana, reflected on this milestone.
"We are reminded of the light and hope that Uyinene embodied. This foundation is a testament to her spirit and the collective resilience of all who strive to eradicate gender-based violence."
