New King Shaka statue will inspire tourists to learn about SA's heritage & history - Ramaphosa

DURBAN - President Cyril Ramaphosa says the new statue of late Zulu King Shaka will inspire tourists to learn more about the country’s heritage and history.
Ramaphosa addressed the unveiling event of the statue at King Shaka Airport in Durban on Thursday.
The statue was built following a request from the late Zulu King Zwelithini.

Zulu regiments chanted in high spirits as they celebrated the life and legacy of one of the Zulu founding monarchs, King Shaka kaSenzangakhona.
On Thursday, government and the Zulu royal family unveiled Shaka’s statue at the international airport named after him.
Ramaphosa said that the statue would add value to tourism.
"This statue will not only inspire visitors to our country, but it will also invite other visitors to come and see this statue a representation of a great king - it is the greatest source of pride."
Ramaphosa added that the statue would contribute to the country’s history which will be told for generations to come.
