Modack trial: Defence says there's more to AGU's dealings with 2 co-accused than meets the eye

CAPE TOWN - A defence attorney said there was more going on related to the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU)'s dealings with two co-accused in the high-profile trial against alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack.
The two accused face charges of conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly plotting attacks on slain top cop, Charl Kinnear, before his eventual murder in September 2020.
Defence attorney, Pauline Andrews, questioned the Anti-Gang Unit's Captain Franklin Stone on Thursday about his testimony related to co-accused, Amaal Jantjies and Yannick Adonis.
It's the State's case that Jantjies and Adonis coerced AGU member Ashley Tabisher to share information about raids on Modack.
The State also alleges the former couple planned three attacks on Kinnear, on behalf of Modack, in November 2019.
However, it's Jantjies and Adonis' version that they were informants assisting in an AGU plot to arrest and kill Modack.
Andrews told the court she'll later argue there was "more than meets the eye" related to the AGU's dealings with Adonis and Jantjies.
