CAPE TOWN - Some Stellenbosch University students say they are worried about their safety.
Jesse Mitchell was robbed and murdered outside the campus on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old was a first-year BSc student at the institution.
His murder came only two weeks after a 20-year-old student was kidnapped and forced to draw money from her bank account.
Her family was also contacted to pay money for her release.

Some students have told Eyewitness News that they don't feel safe on campus.
"It's very sad to witness. It's very, very sad to witness that we are not safe here because it's not the first incident," said one student.
"I feel very unsafe especially as a female student because you can't predict what is going to happen because it happens when nobody is around."
"I think for me there are a lot of questions, and I think the fear was the uncertainty of it. Why did it happen in what seemed to be a very safe area, and a safe campus," said another.
Meanwhile, the University said it would continue to work closely with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other safety stakeholders to strengthen security around the campus.
The Stellenbosch Municipality said it was working closely with university campus security to strengthen safety for students.
Municipal spokesperson Stuart Grobbelaar said crime is a national problem that requires a collective effort.
"Campus security is responsible for security on the campus, while SAPS handles policing in and around the town. However, municipality law enforcement does play a supportive role and regularly patrol all areas of the municipality."
