JOHANNESBURG - Teachers have a profound impact on their pupils - not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well.

As World Teachers' Day is celebrated on Saturday, teachers all over the globe are being put in the spotlight for their immense contribution to educating and inspiring learners.

Jessica Jarvis, a grade 1 teacher from Glen College in Northriding, spoke to Eyewitness News about her teaching journey and had this advice for teachers on this World Teachers' Day.

"Just keep strong. Things are tough some days, but it is all worth it in the end. It really is. Watching the kids learning something new and seeing them grow makes it all worth it."
