Man killed in farm attack near Porterville

CAPE TOWN - A 65-year-old man has been killed in a farm attack near Porterville.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police spokesperson, Joseph Swartbooi, said that serious and violent crime detectives were pursuing all leads in a bid to apprehend the suspects.
"Reports suggested that five unknown armed men gained forced entry to the house at around 01:00 on Monday, 1 July 2024, stabbed the male, and tied up his wife while they ransacked the premises. The victim's wife managed to escape to seek help from neighbours. The 65-year-old man did not survive the onslaught on his life and was declared dead by the medical personnel at a nearby hospital."
Swartbooi said that the motive for the attack is believed to be robbery and the attackers fled with four different firearms, ammunition and mobile devices.
