George Tourism offices closed indefinitely following building fire
The George Municipality in the Western Cape said a blaze flared up in the early hours of Sunday morning. The cause is yet unknown.

CAPE TOWN - The George Tourism offices in Western Cape will be closed indefinitely following a fire in the building.
The George Municipality said a blaze flared up in the early hours of Sunday morning.
While fire services managed to control the fire, there was extensive smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
The municipality said in the meantime, tourism officials will be moved to the main municipal building until further notice.
The municipality’s Chantel Edwards:
“George Municipality regrets to inform residents and visitors that the George Tourism offices located in York Street are closed indefinitely following a structural fire in the early hours of Sunday morning, 30 June. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this point.”
