Nedbank Business Ignite is back on 702 and CapeTalk, and this year it's looking for businesses that have achieved effective growth.

Entrants stand the chance to win R200 000 to scale their venture further!

In addition to the prize money, the two winners will be interviewed on air, and a professional video will be produced to highlight their journey and achievements, which will be featured on the Nedbank and Primedia+ websites.

The theme this year is 'Scaling Up', and the competition is dedicated to recognising and rewarding those 'who have taken bold steps to grow their operations and expand their reach'.

"Scaling up is about more than just increasing revenue. It’s about expanding your business sustainably, enhancing operational efficiency, and creating a lasting impact."
Nedbank Business Ignite

Bruce Whitfield finds out more from programme coordinator Thuli Magubane, director of consulting company Mint Fresh Advisory Services.

In these tough times, people who have managed to scale up successfully need to be celebrated, Magubane says.

"Where you've increased your revenue, you've increased your clientele or operations - those are the types of businesses we're looking for."

Magubane encourages listeners who know of someone who fits the criteria, to encourage them to enter the competition

"If you know a small business or medium-sized business that is doing well, they're a supplier or a service provider to you and you think they really should be featured in this competition, let them know and actually ask them to enter."
"'I'm there to find those gems who will be featured on the radio, and I'll be giving them tips so that they do shine when they come on air."
Thuli Magubane, Director - Mint Fresh

Eligible businesses with an annual turnover between R3 million and R30 million are invited to enter from 15 June 2024.

From these entries, 15 businesses will be shortlisted per station, culminating in an exciting event in both cities where the winners will be announced.
