TSHWANE - The African National Congress (ANC) has attributed the water cuts affecting huge parts of the capital to acts of sabotage.
On Wednesday, parts of the capital including Mamelodi, Soshanguve and Moroleta Park experienced service interruptions.
Although not campaigning now, the party’s first deputy secretary-general, Nomvula Mokonyane, said that the intermittent water cuts in Tshwane were likely the result of sabotage by the Democratic Alliance (DA)-led government.
"It's a disruption because the people have to have learnt that there is nothing hopeful being residents under a DA-led government and what they have done to the people of Soshanguve without any warning is an act of desperation."
In response, city spokesperson, Selby Bokaba, has dismissed the allegations.
"To insinuate that there was any form of sabotage is disingenuous, dangerous, misleading and irresponsible."
