JOHANNESBURG – KwaZulu-Natal police say a manhunt has been launched after four people were shot and killed in Umlazi.
It's understood the gunmen opened fire in a settlement on Thursday night where people had been drinking, and started demanding phones.
Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said the shooting allegedly began after the victims refused to give up their phones.
"As they were leaving the crime scene, the suspects allegedly met another man who was walking to the shack from a pit latrine and they shot him dead, after he also reportedly refused to surrender his cellphone."
He said police were still investigating the motive behind the murders, and that at least six suspects were being sought.
