JOHANNESBURG - Former president Jacob Zuma is expected to return to the dock of the High Court in Pietermaritzburg on Thursday for the resumption of the arms deal corruption case.
The matter was last before the court in March, when a new bid from Zuma to remove State advocate Billy Downer from the prosecution team was dismissed.

The last time the matter was before the court, the State pushed for it to be postponed to the third term for trial owing to multiple delays that have already been occasioned.
Advocate Dali Mpofu, for Zuma, said they needed time to consult on their availability and in the end, the matter was postponed for a pre-trial conference instead.
In the interim, Mpofu did also indicate on the last occasion that they already had instructions to appeal the dismissal of their application to remove Downer from the case.
According to reports, that appeal is also expected to be heard on Thursday.
