BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane launches the party's election TV advert on Friday 10 May 2024.
CAPE TOWN - Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane has taken a swipe at both the governing party and his former political home as launched his election TV advert, titled 'I Believe' on Friday.
As controversy swirls around the Democratic Alliance's advert depicting the burning of the SA flag being pulled by the public broadcaster, Maimane said that the African National Congress(ANC) is also telling untruths about its thirty years in power.
Maimane said that BOSA's first television advert cuts to the chase in offering a message of unity and hope in an increasingly divisive country.
The forty second ad launched on its social media platforms, features its Gauteng premier candidate Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster, Spokesperson and former TV personality Ayanda Allie, various party supporters, and rounds off with Maimane himself.
The party promises a thriving economy, a crime-free society, a job in every home and consequences for the corrupt.
On his X account, Maimane hit back at the party he used to lead, quipping "you don’t have to burn a flag to make a great advert."
BOSA Spokesperson Roger Solomon said, "we recognise the pressing need for a non-racial umbrella party to hold the centre and provide the platform for building one South Africa.
Maimane said that voters are faced with two choices in these elections, unity, growth and prosperity, or five more years of decline.
He said that old parties are displaying predictable behaviour in this election campaign and not offering new ideas or a credible vision.
