The party has been campaigning in the area over the past few days, doing door-to-door visits, clean-up initiatives, and speaking to residents.

Data from Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) shows that about 22% of coloured people in the country are unemployed, second to black people at 36%.

EFF leader Julius Malema said that an EFF government would ensure that all departments in Gauteng were reflective of all the racial groups in the country.

"How South Africa looks like is how a place of employment must look like. For as long as this place of employment has no coloureds, it’s not a true reflection of South Africa - it’s a distortion of South Africa."

Residents of Eldorado Park told Malema they’re willing to give he EFF a chance if it was serious about tackling crime and drugs in the area.
