Hill-Lewis said the city was busy trying to help all those people affected by the recent inclement weather.

"In terms of financial costs it's difficult to say. Of course, with all those trees, fences, lights, and so on that are broken, some roof structures at the Gordon’s Bay traffic centre, the roof flew off, at the Strand traffic centre as well.

"That damage will be many millions, but it is all manageable, the thing that is difficult is the human impact, people who have lost their homes."
