On Saturday, 6 April at 18:30, The Masked Singer South Africa, the local version of the world’s biggest, craziest guessing game, returns to S3 (formerly known as SABC3). This time, the popular show will be even more spectacular, with dazzling new masks hiding 16 celebrities from different backgrounds who are all well-known in households across the country.

Some confirmed masks, appearing on advertising material, television promos and revealed in the media, have already captured the imagination. These include shining stars Diamond and Gold, suave Giraffe, patient perfectionist Tortoise and fast-moving Cheetah.

Meanwhile, a cute fluffy purple character dubbed Monster is also out and about, as is the mysterious yet confident Owl.

However, Owl is not the only Masked Singer waiting in the wings to possibly fly to the top, winning the show’s coveted Golden Mask trophy. Viewers will be stunned by our beautiful national treasure, Blue Crane, whose demeanour matches the elegance of a fairy-tale princess.

Besides Blue Crane, The Masked Singer South Africa Season 2 also features another animal imprinted on South African coins years. Wildebeest debuted on the old 2c coin before upgrading to R5 status.

“The Masked Singer South Africa Season 2 masks are exquisite, and we can’t wait to see which A-list celebrities are hiding in these elaborate costumes. Andolex® is proud to sponsor this fun-filled and unique singing contest,” says Lientjie Kruger, the Brand Manager of the country’s No 1. choice for sore mouth and throat.

And, who knows, perhaps these costumes are packed with clues about the mover and shaker inside.

So, be in front of your television and tuned into S3 on Saturday at 18:30 to start unravelling the identity of the Masked Singers. Each week, one celebrity will be unmasked based on the vote of the superfan audience and the show’s esteemed panel of detectives – J’Something, Somizi Mhlongo, Sithelo Shozi and Skhumba Hlophe.

As these new masks are stepping into the limelight, Capetonians can also make their way to the Blue City Mall in Tokai. Last season’s winner, Lollipop and friends, will keep mallgoers entertained in a way you’ve never experienced in a mall before!  Primedia Land’s  The Masked Singer SA extravaganza is only on until Sunday, 7 April. Because Saturday is the launch date of The Masked Singer South Africa Season 2,  Primeland will be pulling out all the stops on the day. You don’t want to miss it!
