JOHANNESBURG - Former president of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and new ActionSA member, Dr Kgosi Letlape, said the party would restructure the country's ailing health system should it be elected to power.

Letlape was speaking at ActionSA's 2024 manifesto launch at the Ellis Park Arena, Johannesburg on Saturday afternoon.

He said that for the majority of South Africans, access to affordable healthcare remained an elusive dream.

He said this was because of unabated corruption in the public healthcare sector.

"Every citizen should have access to quality healthcare administered from within the communities in which they live. This is how close quality healthcare should be brought to our people. ActionSA will be fixing the South African healthcare system so that it becomes a norm for people to gain quality healthcare."
