JOHANNESBURG - Members of Parliament (MPs) have raised concerns about the lack of progress in finalising the Zondo commission recommendations by State-owned enterprises (SOEs).
Members of the Public Enterprises Portfolio Committee on Wednesday received an update on what the various OEs have done to implement the recommendations from the State Capture Commission.
These include delinquency proceedings against former directors of SOEs implicated in state capture as well as criminal proceedings.
Committee Content Advisor Rodney Mnisi said that there were 94 cases involving five strategic SOEs and a database had been compiled to list all those implicated.
DA MP Mimi Gondwe said that they want information on the progress.
"I'm also concerned in general that the presentation outlines all the investigations under the different SOEs but provides no further details in relation to the progress of investigations."
Committee member Farhat Essack said more needs to be done.
"Something needs to be done, something more concrete. So I would look forward to a more detailed report."
The committee was informed that 25 former senior Eskom executives had been identified for inclusion on the database who either jumped ship, or were dismissed.
