Missing Joshlin Smith case: Mother, co-accused due back in court for bail application
Joshlin has been missing for 23 days after disappearing from her family home in Middelpos, Saldanha Bay, where she was left in the care of her mother’s boyfriend Jacquen Appollis.

CAPE TOWN - Missing six-year-old Joshlin Smith’s mother - Kelly Smith - who faces charges of kidnapping and human trafficking related to her daughter’s disappearance is set to make her second appearance in the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Joshlin has been missing for 23 days after disappearing from her family home in Middelpos, Saldanha Bay, where she was left in the care of her mother’s boyfriend Jacquen Appollis.

Smith and Appollis along with two other suspects - Steveno van Rhyn and Phumza Sigaqa - are due back in court for a bail application.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila noted the State's determination to keep the four suspects behind bars.
“We wanted to get more information on the accused in case they want to apply for bail. But if they do apply for bail, we will oppose it.”
