Last week, some residents took to the streets over water outages following a breakdown of a pump at the treatment plant.

The City of Tshwane assured residents that repairs at the Bronkhorstspruit water treatment plant were on track.

The metro said the installation should be completed by Wednesday, and affected areas should see an improvement in water pressure.

It said until the work was completed, it put in place temporary measures to ensure the communities had supply.

Meanwhile, the city said it's working on a long-term plan to replace pumps at its treatment plants to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
