The 96th annual Academy Awards takes place on Sunday (10 March) in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

The Oscar honours general and technical achievements across 24 categories of which the most prestigious are Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay.

Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’, Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’, Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, and Yorgos Lanthumos’ ‘Poor Things’ are up for Best Picture.

Actors Lily Gladstone, Cillian Murphy, Bradley Cooper, Colman Domingo, Emma Stone, America Ferrera, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and others are nominated in the main acting categories.

The event will also feature performances by Ryan Gosling and Mark Ronson, Becky G, Billie Elish, and many more.

Catch the live broadcast on Monday (11 March) at 1 am on M-Net and DStv channel 101.

A second broadcast will air on the same day at 9 pm.
