DA guns for ANC cadre deployment records at provincial and regional level
The DA said there is new evidence that the cadre deployment policy existed beyond just the national structure, trickling down to provinces and municipalities where legal appointment processes were allegedly subverted.

JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has given the African National Congress (ANC) a fresh ultimatum as the official opposition escalates its fight against the governing party’s cadre deployment policy.
The party said it is now gunning for the ANC’s provincial and regional structures, calling for them to also hand over records from their deployment committees.
The DA’s latest step comes after the Constitutional Court ordered the ANC to submit documents from the governing party’s national cadre deployment committee.
The DA said it plans to submit applications as per the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) to obtain all minutes and records from the ANC’s provincial and regional cadre deployment committees.
The party said that there is new evidence that the policy existed beyond just the national structure, trickling down to provinces and municipalities where legal appointment processes were allegedly subverted.
The DA believes that the recent ruling by the Constitutional Court in its favour, sets a precedent.
The new application is expected to cover meeting minutes, WhatsApp conversations, emails, CVs, and other documents dating back to January 2013.
The DA has threatened to take the matter to court if the ANC fails to comply with the application within 30 days.
