CT police seeking public's help in linking firearms found in Khayelitsha tavern to those who used them

CAPE TOWN – Cape Town police are seeking the public's assistance in linking four firearms recovered at a tavern in Khayelitsha to the people who used them.

Police said while members were conducting a roadblock on Spine Road in Khayelitsha on Tuesday, they witnessed a "gun salute" taking place at Phakamani Road.

Upon arrival, they noticed one person running into a tavern with what's believed to be a rifle.

 While searching the premises, they found four pistols. However, no one was arrested.

"Anyone with information that may assist in apprehending the perpetrators to call the Crimestop number at 08600 10111,” said police spokesperson FC van Wyk.

“Alternatively, members of the public can send information via the MYSAPS mobile application. All received information will be treated as confidential, and callers may opt to remain anonymous."
