Good Party suspends Peter de Villiers on allegations of sexual misconduct

CAPE TOWN - The Good Party has suspended its Western Cape Provincial Legislature member Peter de Villiers on allegations of sexual misconduct.
The party said de Villiers has not been found guilty of the allegations, but the seriousness of the charges necessitated immediate suspension.
According to the party, the former Springbok coach turned politician will no longer take part in all its activities pending disciplinary processes.
"Good’s constitution is unambiguous on gender relations and gender-based violence. The constitution applies to all members, regardless of position. Given the sensitive nature of the allegations, the party will for now be making no further comment on the matter," said the party's Secretary General Brett Herron.
