CAPE TOWN - The court case against underworld gang kingpin, Nafiz Modack, and his co-accused is back in the Western Cape High Court on Thursday, with the State set to continue with its indictment against the 15 accused.

Modack and 14 others face 124 charges related to racketeering, murder and other crimes, including the assassination of top cop, Charl Kinnear.

Kinnear was gunned down outside his Bishop Lavis home in September 2020.

On Thursday, the court is set to hear about Modack's alleged involvement in the attempted murder of defence attorney, William Booth.

It is alleged that Modack and three of the other accused attempted to murder Booth on 9 April in 2020.

On Wednesday, the State alleged that he and some of his co-accused were also complicit in the murders of Nicolaas Heerschap in Melkbostrand and Richard Joseph in Kuils River in 2019.

Modack has pleaded not guilty to more than 25 of the charges he is facing.
