The family of Don Mlangeni Nawa announced on 16 April that the renowned actor had passed away.

The Nawa family has requested privacy as they mourn, and stated the memorial and funeral details will be announced in due course.

Nawa rose to national fame through his portrayal of Zebedee Matabane on the TV soap opera Isidingo.

He held the role of the stern, but deeply principled, patriarch for more than a decade.

Maseko, who played Nawa’s on-screen son, says Nawa acted like an off-screen father before they even started acting together.
