WATCH: Eliud Kipchoge fan spots the Olympic champ running along Sea Point Promenade
‘Fan boy’ Amish Kooverjee documented passing by the Olympic champion during a morning run with a group of runners on Thursday.
On Thursday, Kenyan long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge was spotted by a BIG local fan in Cape Town.
The South African admirer of the 2016 and 2020 Olympic marathon champion got a hunch that Kipchoge was in the Mother City from following the runner on social media.
The fan tried running along Sea Point Promenade to spot Kipchoge... AND HE DID!
In an epic moment, the 'fanboy' (Amish Kooverjee) documented passing by the Olympic champion during a morning run with a group of runners.
The moment was captured and shared by @keeping_up_with_koovers on Instagram.
In the video, you can hear Kipchoge's ultimate fan saying, "We found him... guys, I'm going to cry," before jokingly asking if Kipchoge is 'able to keep up?'
The Instagram user captioned the moment 'speechless'.
"Fan boy moment of a lifetime. The pinnacle. What a morning! Such a special experience spotting @kipchogeeliud out there and sharing the road with him!", the Instagram caption read.

Kipchoge also took to his Instagram to document some of his time in Cape Town, where he featured poses with Table Mountain, Robben Island, Bo Kaap, and, of course, runs along the Sea Point Promenade.
