A good Samaritan stopped to help a delivery driver who almost got washed away by the storm in Cape Town.

The stormy weather in Cape Town has made the roads treacherous, especially for someone on a motorbike.

A video on social media shows a delivery driver who got stuck when the rushing storm water became too strong for him to ride through.

This was in Newlands on Kildare Road on Tuesday.

Boshoff says an elderly gentleman helped the delivery man get to safety in a garage while he was trying to find a place to park.

There has been some criticism levelled at the owner of the bike, who rented it out to the driver, for allowing people to work in these conditions.

However, he says drivers are desperate for money and will work in this weather because they get better tips.
