EAST LONDON - It is a gloomy Saturday morning in East London in the Eastern Cape, and residents are still in their homes, with little sign of movement at the Orient Theatre in Quigney.
As the voter registration weekend kicks off on Saturday, it seems like the residents in East London are not yet ready to come and register to vote.
Currently, no one has made their way there, with the hall, which is usually packed, standing empty, with only a few party representatives from the United Democratic Movement (UDM), African Transformation Movement (ATM), and the African National Congress (ANC) camping outside.
While they remain hopeful, they too have expressed doubt over whether potential voters will come to register or update their details.
