Soweto residents remember Tutu for his humility as a leader and a father
The City of Joburg held a wreath laying ceremony outside Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s old home on Vilakazi street, in Soweto, on 29 December 2021. Some of his former neighbours came to speak about the fatherly role that he played when he lived there. One of the neighbours also highlighted how Tutu encouraged them to start businesses when his former home was made a place of interest.
