Vets stumped by how Kruger National Park elephant contracted human TB
In 2016, an elephant was found dead on the side of a road in Kruger National Park. It had died of tuberculosis. But what alarmed vets in the park was that the strain tested positive for human tuberculosis for the first time in South Africa. Since then, scientists at the park have been trying to figure out the implications of this case for the park's elephants.
