Uyinene's murderer Luyanda Botha to appear in court for attempted rape of student

CAPE TOWN - Luyanda Botha, who was found guilty of raping and murdering 19-year-old UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana in 2019, is set to appear in Wynberg Magistrates Court on Friday.
Botha is on trial for allegedly attempting to rape a 21-year-old nursing student in 2014.
The State alleges Botha, who is currently serving a life sentence, visited a woman at a nursing college in Athlone, where he found the victim taking a bath.
Botha allegedly attempted to rape the woman, but she fought him off, and he was later arrested.
A State witness will provide testimony in court on Friday.
