The leadership battle over the control of the multimillion-rand church has been an issue since the son of the founder died.
The commission has held several meetings with warring parties following a dramatic and deadly hostage situation at the Zuurbekom church, west of Joburg earlier this month.
The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities held several meetings with the parties for the purpose of mediation.
Earlier this month over 200 congregants, were held hostage in a deadly standoff between feuding factions of the International Pentacostal Holiness Church in Zuurbekom, west of Johannesburg.
Five people were shot dead when a splinter group allegedly forcefully entered the church on Saturday.
Five people were shot dead on Saturday following and alleged factional battles at the headquarters of the church in the west of Johannesburg.
It’s alleged ongoing conflict to succeed the leader of the church in Zuurbekom turned bloody when congregates allegedly attacked people who were inside, indicating that they were coming to take over the premises.
It’s believed two rival church groups were involved in this morning’s incident, although it is still unclear what the motive behind the attack was.
At least 6 cars riddled with bullets are at the scene of the shooting.
