CPUT stabbing: Accused referred for mental evaluation
Video footage of the brutal stabbing at a student residence went viral on social media earlier in November.
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) says the female student who was stabbed several times allegedly by her husband, a University of the Western Cape student, is recovering well.
Thirty-two-year-old Ntembeko Myalo made his second appearance in the Bellville Magistrates Court on Monday.
Ntembeko Myalo, who was filmed stabbing the female victim at a private student residence in Belhar on 11 November, was due in court on Monday to make a bail application.
The woman was stabbed multiple times at a private student residence in Belhar over the weekend and she's recovering in hospital.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the man can be seen stabbing a Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) student while she is on the ground as two other students plead with the man to stop.
