UCT: Protests won't affect exam preparations
On Thursday, three students were arrested as about 200 protesters disrupted classes and damaged UCT buses.
The university's Elijah Moholola says that the institution has taken the decision to halt activities due to safety concerns.
University of Cape Town vice chancellor Max Price says while students have the right to protest, he condemns the disruption of academic activities.
The protest was the latest in a series of protests on Cape campuses in recent months, some of which have turned violent.
