Matt LeBlanc to step down as BBC 'Top Gear' host
The BBC said LeBlanc, 50, was finding the travel demands of the show too taxing.
The star tweeted on Friday that he was “in a wheelchair, connected up to tubes, in a hospital” in Mallorca, Spain after catching the infection.
The 47-year-old was driving an electric sports car during filming for 'The Grand Tour' when the crash happened, the spokesman for the show said.
Evans broke the news on Twitter, adding that he ‘gave it his best but sometimes that’s not enough.’
