‘Jabs save lives’ - Gauteng Educ Dept alarmed as 9,000 teachers refuse vaccines

The department said 9,113 employees in the sector, including those with comorbidities, had turned down their opportunity to receive their Johnson & Johnson jab.

    Lesufi: COVID-19 vaccine jabs crucial to return Gauteng schools to normalcy

    Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi said the rollout got off to a great start despite some glitches, including a delivery mix-up, which saw the Pfizer vaccine delivered to some sites, instead of the Johnson & Johnson jab.

    No vaccine shortage expected for teachers - Deputy Health Minister Joe Phaahla

    The deputy minister confirmed that there were currently 300,000 doses that were being administered to educators, with more Johnson & Johnson vaccines set to arrive in the country soon.

    Anxiety and excitement as vaccination of SA's education staff begins

    It's hoped after months of disruptions, schooling will be able to return to some normalcy as employees in the sector across the country started receiving their jabs on Wednesday.

    KZN govt pleased with teacher vaccine rollout plan, Sadtu not so much

    The provincial education department plans to inoculate 127,000 educators and other staff members at 70 vaccination sites across the province starting on Wednesday.
