Tazne van Wyk murder trial delayed after accused attacked en route to court
The Western Cape High Court has postponed the alleged killer's trial to Wednesday to give him time to recover from Monday morning's assault.
The court has heard that the accused was attacked by two men in the truck en route from Pollsmoor Prison on Monday morning and needed urgent medical attention.
The woman took the stand in the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday.
The woman is the fifth state witness in the trial.

The trial was meant to get under way in the Western Cape High Court on Monday but it was postponed to give the accused’s new lawyer time to consult.
The man accused of killing Van Wyk appeared briefly in the Western Cape High Court on Monday, where the matter was postponed to Wednesday to give the accused’s new lawyer time to consult.
The man accused of her rape and murder will now only go on trial in May next year. The trial was supposed to start on Monday at the Western Cape High Court.
On Friday, the High Court in the Western Cape set 31 May 2021 as the trial date.
The man accused of raping and murdering 8-year-old Tazne van Wyk in February last year appeared in the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday for another pre-trial hearing.
A provisional trial date has been set for May.
The suspect had been initially accused of just kidnapping and murdering 8-year-old Tazne van Wyk but he's now been slapped with a total of 20 charges.
