How much homework is too much for children?
Homework is needed because children need to practice to develop the skills that they are exposed to at school, but can it get a bit too much?

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga said schooling would not resume in May in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. She said only senior officials would start working from 4 May to help with preparations, followed by school management from 11 May, and from 18 May, teachers would go in to start preparations for the resumption of schooling.
Angie Motshekga said the principles of opening schools at the right time was accepted once all conditions had been met.
Parliament’s education committees were on Wednesday briefed on the department’s plan for the phased reopening of schools.
The Basic Education Department is gearing up to get the school calendar going again, with a proposed plan in place to have grades seven and 12 heading back to the classroom first on Wednesday 6 May, followed by other grades in phases.
