Richard Baloyi dodges questions about signing-off Maseko’s transfer from GCIS
The state capture commission of inquiry on Tuesday heard evidence, which revealed the transfer and appointment, respectively, were irregular.
Despite facing charges, Mzwanele Manyi was controversially appointed as the head of GCIS where he replaced former government spokesperson Themba Maseko.
The commission would also hear testimony from former Minister of Public Service and Administration Richard Baloyi.
Manyi reluctantly answered questions during his second appearance at the state capture commission on Wednesday.
He was expected to shed light on allegations that money was channelled into accounts owned by the Gutpa family from GCIS and the role he played in that transaction.
Former President Jacob Zuma told the commission earlier this year that the decision to replace Themba Maseko with Mzwanele Manyi was approved by Cabinet in February 2011.
