Case against 53 veterans accused of kidnapping withdrawn
The group faced charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and 26 counts of kidnapping.
There was a tense standoff on Sunday between the vets and the police after a group of military veterans blocked all the access routes refusing to be evicted.
They are among the 53 vets who allegedly held Defence Minister Thandi Modise, Presidency Minister Mondli Gungubele and Deputy Minister Thabang Makwetla hostage last week.
The 53 accused face 27 charges which include one count of conspiracy to kidnap and twenty-six charges of kidnapping as there were 26 people in the meeting room, including ministers Mondli Gungubele and Thandi Modise as well as Deputy Minister Thabang Makwetla.
