NPA welcomes Mandla Mandela appeal dismissal
Mandela is facing a R10,000 fine or five years in jail for the 2013 assault.
He was found guilty of assaulting a teacher during a road rage incident in the Eastern Cape in 2013.
Mandla Mandela’s application for leave to appeal the conviction was heard by judges in Grahamstown.
His attorneys are preparing to petition the EC High court to get the record expunged.
Mandla Mandela had previously been convicted of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Mandela’s lawyer Billy Gundelfinger has argued for the Mvezo chief to be cautioned and discharged.
