The virtual showcase has captured minds and hearts across the world after airing. It features local greats, including the late legendary actress Mary Twala.
The film, which is based on the music from her album the 'Lion King: The Gift,' will air at 8pm Channel 101 for all DSTV subscribers.
The highly stylized visual narrative released on the Disney Plus streaming platform runs an hour and 25 minutes and, akin to 'The Lion King,' tells the story of a young boy who navigates an onerous world, finding himself far from his family.
The film will premiere globally on July 31 2020 and is based on the music of 'The Lion King: The Gift'.
A video of a baboon stealing a lion cub has been doing the rounds on social media. The incident was filmed by Kurt Schultz in the Kruger National Park and can be dubbed a real-life version of the 'Lion King'.
