It’s a wrap for SMS leak saga as Zondo closes investigation
Chief Justice Ramond Zondo has closed the investigation into the so-called SMS leak saga about the public protector's rescission case.
The commission started its work in January this year looking into allegations of impropriety at the PIC.
The inquiry was supposed to submit its final report at the end of this month but will now do so by 15 December.
The commission, led by retired Judge Lex Mpati, was set up by President Cyril Ramaphosa in October last year to look into any impropriety regarding investment decisions.
Senior executive Abdul Malick Salie gave evidence against the company's Iqbal Survé, claiming he instructed them to inflate the value of Ayo to attract investment from the PIC.
PIC's executive head of impact investment Roy Rajdhar said it was inevitable that some transactions could go wrong.
