Search and rescue teams continued the search for the body of the 21-year-old male, believed to have drowned during a cleansing ritual on Saturday. The body of an 18-year-old female, who was also part of the ritual, was discovered on Wednesday and her identity was confirmed by her family.

Joburg EMS spokesperson, Xolile Khumalo, said officials were yet to confirm whether the body belonged to one of the two people.

Although search efforts will continue on Tuesday morning, the family wants authorities to launch an investigation looking the circumstances around the incident.
Emergency services officials began their search on Sunday after the 18-year-old female and 21-year-old male were reported missing on Saturday.
It's understood that the 21-year-old male and 18-year-old female disappeared in the stream in the south of Johannesburg during a cleansing ceremony on Saturday.
One of the deceased was found trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Police were called after it was reported that two boys, both two years old, fell into the river almost two weeks ago.
This follows complaint about a white foamy substance in the river.
