• Nxesi: Govt consistent in fighting unemployment, poverty & inequality

    Minister of Employment and Labour Thulas Nxesi reiterated that government is doing all it can to improve the high youth unemployment rate in the country. Nxesi was speaking on 14 October 2021 during the launch of the second phase of the employment stimulus. The employment stimulus was launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa in October 2020 in response to the high number of job losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • R11 bn allocated to phase two of Presidential Employment Stimulus

    Phase 2 of the Presidential Employment Stimulus has been launched, with a total of R11 billion allocated by National Treasury. The announcement was made on 14 October 2021 by Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele. The stimulus was launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa in October 2020 in response to the high number of job losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Ramaphosa: Job creation is a key focus of this administration

    Speaking during a parliamentary question and answer session, President Cyril Ramaphosa said that government was prioritising job creation. Ramaphosa also said that infrastructure investment was another key area government wanted to use to grow the economy.
