Thirty South Africans were left stranded at the Frankfurt Airport after they were told an SAA flight, which apparently had a problwem with its door, could not accommodate all of them.
A spokeswoman for Frankfurt airport said no one was injured in the incident happened at around 6:00 pm on Saturday.
German airline Lufthansa, whose main hub is in Frankfurt, said on Twitter that boarding had been stopped at the A and Z levels of the airport’s Terminal 1.
Part of the terminal was cleared after a person passed into the departure area without doing a security check.
The company had been expected to report fourth-quarter operating profit of €13.7 million on revenues.
Frankfurt Airport has stopped all incoming flights due to snow and freezing temperatures.
