Mngangagwa addresses hundreds at Zim consulate
Emmerson Mnangwaga met with President Jacob Zuma and is now addressing Zimbabweans at the consulate in Pretoria.
The congress will take place on Friday which will be exactly a month since the army took control of the country.
Emmerson Mnangagwa was sworn in last month after a military takeover which saw the resignation of Robert Mugabe after almost four decades in power.
Thousands of Zimbabweans turned out to the national stadium to witness their new president Emmerson Mnangagwa being made their official Commander in Chief.
Addressing a cheering crowd in Harare on Wednesday night after his return, Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe was entering a new stage of democracy.
Addressing Zimbabweans for the first time since his return, Mnangagwa appealed to them to work together in revitalizing the economy and creating jobs.
Most of its 16 million people remain poor and face currency shortages and sky-high unemployment, something Mnangagwa promised to address.
