Dept urged to speed up District 6 restitution after second claimant passes away

    Shariefa Khan, oldest District 6 land claimant at 100, dies before moving back

    Shariefa Khan (100) was given the keys to her new home in April last year. However, the building was flagged for infrastructure faults, such as missing staircase railings, which has delayed claimants moving back home.

    The order prevents any persons from entering or occupying the land, erecting or completing structures. The order further prohibits anyone from intimidating, threatening, harassing or assaulting or in any way interfering with the work of officials, councillors and law enforcement.
