Ramaphosa: Unprecedented govt action a new phase in fight against corruption
President Cyril Ramaphosa said that COVID-19 corruption had presented a situation where the problem could be dealt with.
A milestone of over one million people have been tested across the country, of which 29,999 were conducted since the last report on Wednesday.
This was not the first time a school readiness briefing by the minister was postponed.
The union said the measures taken by government such as the temporary employment relief scheme through the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) were not enough to deal with the impact of the nationwide lockdown.
The EFF said its officials would also do the same and contribute to the COVID-19 fund as well as Johannesburg Mayor Geoff Makhubo.
South Africa's government promised to fly home 184 of its nationals - mostly students and teachers - who are residing in the city. But no date has been set for their return.
